Hi, I’m Marisa!

Welcome to MW LITERACY®, where the focus is on best practices for supporting the development of proficient and effective readers, writers, and thinkers. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with a minor in English, a master’s in Childhood Education, and I am currently working towards a professional certificate in Learning Differences and Neurodiversity. I am LETRS and Orton-Gillingham trained. I work 1:1 with students in elementary and middle school to provide reading, writing, spelling, and executive function support. I have extensive experience with students diagnosed with ADHD and executive function impairments, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and expressive language disorders.  I also consult with families and professionals on meaningful and evidence-based methods to help students succeed and reach their potential. In 2021, I was appointed the Literacy Consultant for the Charge Into Reading Decodable Reading series for young readers. You can find me on Instagram at @mwliteracy where I provide content for educators and families on all things literacy and executive functioning.
